About Our Webinar
Registered Clinical Counsellor, Bonnie Dyck, will explore how to support emotional balance in ourselves and the students/children we care for. The focus of this workshop will be on our strongest tool, our own self-regulated nervous system, and the importance of focusing on one’s own emotional balance first before tending to the needs of others. Session topics will include:
i) what self-care really means and some of the common barriers,
ii) the research behind establishing emotional balance and nervous system regulation,
iii) the importance of implementing an attachment frame in fostering emotional safety and working from a trauma informed approach, and
iv) discussing some practical strategies and tools you can implement right away.
This presentation will include several self-reflection/journal exercises to help participants integrate the theory that is presented.

About Our Webinar
David Segal of Human-Nature Counselling Society will continue to explore insights emerging from the field of attachment science and interpersonal neurobiology. Specifically, what we know about how humans can work together to optimally meet the challenges of living in these uncertain and stressful times.
By viewing distress through an attachment and neuro-developmental lens, it opens up possibilities for how to support students in effective and impactful ways and also how to take care of ourselves and our colleagues in the process. We will dive a bit deeper into the theoretical foundations introduced in Part 1 as well as discuss some practical strategies and tools, including working with the natural world as a co-facilitator.
