Welcome

BC CEC is a volunteer group of educators, parents and support workers who are interested in promoting good educational practices for students with disabilities.  Our organization is organized for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes to advance the education of children and youth with exceptionalities and to establish and administer programs and activities for the education of our members.  Specifically, the BC Council for Exceptional Children intends to assist and provide support to the Council for Exceptional Children in all its efforts on behalf of children and youth with exceptionalities.

 

We are dedicated to advocating and improving education for students with identified learning challenges. This is our mission; this is our challenge! We support our students by providing you with resources, research, networking, and opportunities to renew and refresh your professional knowledge. Since 2001, BC CEC has celebrated and honoured the accomplishments of our students through our Provincial Yes I Can! Awards Program.

The Council for Exceptional Children works to improve and influence public policy affecting children with exceptionalities, those with disabilities and/or gifts and talents, their parents, and the professionals who work with them, at all levels of government. CEC is the recognized leader in advocacy for special education policy.
